About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated Electronic Engineer to join our dynamic team in Aberdeen on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and troubleshooting of electronic systems used across a variety of cutting-edge projects. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer with a strong technical background to contribute to innovative solutions within the energy and technology sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electronic circuits, schematics, and PCB layouts.
  • Perform testing and validation of electronic components and systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project requirements and timelines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues during development and implementation phases.
  • Document design processes, test results, and provide technical support where necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Participate in project planning and provide input on electronic design aspects.
  • Assist with prototyping, assembly, and testing of electronic hardware.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electronic Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in electronic design and development.
  • Proficiency with CAD software for PCB design (e.g., Altium, Eagle).
  • Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design.
  • Experience with microcontrollers, embedded systems, and power electronics.
  • Hands-on experience with lab tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug hardware issues.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in the energy, oil & gas, or renewable sectors.
  • Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., ISO, IEC, etc.).
  • Familiarity with FPGAs, VHDL/Verilog programming.
  • Understanding of signal processing and communication protocols.
